Man severely injured in work accident
In the afternoon of May 6, 2015, a 32 year old worker was injured in an accident aboard the "Morning Chorus" in the Kaiser Port of Bremerhaven. The man sustained severe injuries and to be taken to hospital. He had transported lashing material with a forklift from the main deck to the deck below. When he drove down the ramp backwards, the forklift tipped over, and the driver gut caught the legs under the three-ton forklift. In order to save the mans life, the alerted firefighterscut out parts of the forklift. Meanwhile, he was cared for by the attending emergency physician. He had suffered severe fractures. Due to the intense pain the man had to be put in an artificial coma.
