Tanker shot upon by Iranian Navy
The 'Richmond Voyager' was called on VHF by the Iranian navy and asked to stop in the vicinity of pos. 23 55 0 N, 059 05 40 E, in the Gulf of Oman north-west of Muscat, on July 5, 2023, at approximately 01.35 a.m. UT. When the vessel continued on its way, an Iranian naval vessel aimed shots at the funnel. It was not yet known if any damage was suffered . The vessel responded by increasing speed and changing course towards Omani territorial waters, as advised by a coalition warship.
