Crew member deadly injured in fall on board
The Hellenic Coast Guard, deployed an Air Force helicopter on No 16, 2021, at noon to the "Navios Sol", which was sailing 3.4 nautical miles south of Kythira, to medevac a 44-year-old crew member of the ship who needed immediate hospital treatment after falling from a height. The 44-year-old seafarer was picked up by the helicopter without regaining consciousness, and taken to the military airport of Kalamata. He then transported by an EKAB ambulance to the General Hospital of Messinia, where he was pronounced dead.
