Mol-Courage

Three of the sisterships of the MOL Comfort, the boxship that split in two in June, have returned to service after undergoing hull strengthening. Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) said the MOL Celebration, MOL Courage, and MOL Creation returned to the service on the Asia – Europe trade on 10 August. The vessels are three out of six sisterships of the five-year old MOL Comfort, which fractured and then split in two in the Indian Ocean on 17 June. The MOL Comfort and its six sisterships were all built at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Since July 3 the "MOL Courage" is enstrengthened at the Benoi Shipyard in Singapore as a consequence of the "MOL Comfort" desaster. The "MOL Courage" was due to return to Mitsui OSK Lines on the LP1 loop from Singapore on Aug 13 August, while the "MOL Celebration", which was undergoing the same rebuilding, was expected to rejoin the LP1 from Vung Tau on Aug 23. Also the sister ships "MOL Creation", "MOL Charisma" and "MOL Competence", all built between 2007 and 2008, and "MOL Commitment" delivered in 2013, will be rebuilt. The "MOL Competence" will be sent to dock later this week, while the "MOL Commitment" was still awaiting vacant yard capacity.
