Bridge allision in Lisbon

On March 31, 2021, at 1.30 p.m. the 'Ionic Hawk' allided with the Ponte 25 de Abril in Lisbon. The vessel was enroute from Casablancaand arrived in Lisbon at about 1 p.m. and slammed against one of the pillars of the bridge. The National Maritime Authority sent a team from the Captaincy of the Port of Lisbon. The causes of the accident were being investigated by the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Lisbon. Both the bridge structure and the ship were inspected after the incident. The bridge, which is undergoing a long-term maintenance, did not appear to have suffered any structural damage. The 'Ionic Hawk' which had some damage at the starboard side bow, moored in pos. 38° 41.09' N 009° 10.95' W where she remained stationary as of April 1.
