Tankers with Russian crude changed their ports of destination

Jan 06, 2026 21:52

The 'Cosmo Sail' and 'Kartha', both carrying Russian Urals crude, which had signaled Sikka as their port of destination, have updated their details. The 'Cosmo Sail' had indicated Sikka with an ETA as of Dec. 29, 2025. The shipment was linked to the Jamnagar refinery operated by Reliance Industries Ltd. A few days later, however, the vessel delivered its cargo to an adjacent single-point mooring facility owned by Bharat Petroleum Corp. The 'Kartha', which issued signals showing Sikka as destination on Dec. 31, 2025, was now destined to the nearby port of Vadinar and arrived at the Rosneft Nayara Refinery on Jan 6, 2026. At least three tankers carrying nearly 2.2 million barrels of Urals were indicating Reliance’s port and plant as destination. Reliance reiterated on Jan 6 that the report on oil destined for Jamnagar was completely false. The refinery has not received any cargo of Russian oil in approximately the past three weeks and was not expecting any Russian crude oil deliveries in January. A third tanker, the 'Vokki', was sailing off Oman and still indicating Sikka as its destination.

Singapore seizes Italian firm's ships due to unpaid debt

Aug 27, 2012 09:22

Singapore's Supreme Court approved the arrest this month of the 109,000-deadweight tonne crude oil tanker, Adele Marina Rizzo, and 178,000-tonne dry bulk carrier, Cavaliere Grazia Bottiglieri, according to the court's website. The two ships are being held as collateral for unpaid debt owed to maritime firms Fratelli Cosulich Hong Kong Limited and Madeira Lda, said Kevin Kwek, a Singapore-based lawyer for Legal Solutions LLC, which seized one of the vessels. "There is an outstanding debt from the owners … for around $4.7 million," Kwek told Reuters. "We are currently in talks (with RBD Armatori)."
