Detention in Motril
The "Regina Baltica" was detained on Nov 13, 2025, in Motril, where it had arrived on Nov 9, with seven deficiencies , two of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Certificate & Doc - Manning specified by the minimum safe manning doc Not as required 2) Safety of navigation - Gyro compass Inoperative The vessel was released again on Nov 20 and remained stationary in Motril as of Nov 24. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19xRYjv4C5/
Birth on board
On July 16, 2022, the 'Regina Báltica' requested the urgent evacuation of a passenger due to childbirth and later of the passenger and her newborn after childbirth. The center of Salvamento MarĂtimo in Tarragona mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 204 which transported both to the Reus airport where an ambulance and a team if Semgencat were already waiting for further care.
Fire in engine room
On Dec 21, 2019, at 9 a.m. a fire broka out in the engine room the 'Regina Baltica' off the coast of Santa EulĂ ria, southeast of Ibiza. Salvamento MarĂtimo was alerted and dispatched the SAR ship 'Marta Mata' and a tug of the R-SofĂa port to assist. An ambulance was sent to the port of Ibiza as a precaution to care for the 55 crew members if needed. The fire was controlled and extinguished very fast, no injuries were reported. The ferry was sailing without passengers from Denia to Ibiza to reinforce the local services due to bad weather. The operator Balearia has readjusted the operation with two other ships. The 'Sicilia' covers the route between Ibiza and Valencia, while the 'City of MahĂłn' was to connect Ibiza and Barcelona. Both departed with 1,5 hours delay each in the midday hours. The 'Regina Baltica' ship berthed in Valencia on Dec 23 at 9.15 a.m.
