Tanker unloads Russian disel in Wilhelmshaven

Jan 18, 2023 13:11

The 'Ane', loaded with 40,000 tons of Russian diesel, is unloading its cargo at the berth 1 of the Wilhelmshavener Raffineriegesellschaft on Jan 17, 2023. This is possible because the fuel sanctions only come into effect at the beginning of February. The diesel was loaded in Vysotsk. The ship is moving within the framework of the EU sanctions against Russia, according to which the shipment of diesel into the European Union is currently still permitted. Short-term, one-off transactions are permitted, as confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Economics. Before the sanctions come into force on February 5, companies are therefore still stocking up on diesel. Crude oil imports from the Russian Federation are prohibited.
