Investigation into death on board
While the "Bianca Amoretti" was at anchor in Malamocco in the morning of Apr 24, 2016, a crew member working in a tank of the ship was found dead by two colleagues. The Coast Guard was alerted and started an investigation, but sea conditions made it very difficult to approach the ship, so the tanker was ordered to berth in Porto Marghera where it docked at the Eni refinery at Venice Commercial Terminals at 3 p.m. The attention of investigators focused on a deep wound in the throat clearly visible on the corpse.
