New engine fixed
Repairs of the propulsion of the "Ranzow" are expected to be completed the forthcoming week. On Feb 22, 2012, a new portside main engine of 570 hp was mounted at Dänholm under guidance of the shipping authority in Stralsund. Engine breakdown during ice breaking mission
The "Ranzow" suffered engine damage while ice breaking off Stralsund and was forced back into the port of Stralsund. The ship will be out of service probably until the end of February 2012. The multi purpose ship "Arkona" was called to break the ice instead.
