The "Koravi" ran aground near Akrotiri Dhaka at the southern coast of Lefkada in the Akrotiri sea with eight Albanian crew members on board in the night of Nov 15, 2018. The ship which was carrying 1,949 tons of iron rods and was enroute from Amaliapolis Volos to Albania, suffered water ingress. Two patrol boats of the Greek Coastguard and a helicopter were deployed to the site, and all crew members were taken off and transferred for preventive purposes to the Vasiliki Health Center in Lefkada. Seven of them were released soon after. On scene were southeast winds of five Beaufort. The ship was pulled free later in the day by the tug "Christos XXXIV" and towed to the port of Vassiliki, Lefkada. The water ingress in the bow did not affect the stability of the ship. The Lefkada Port Authority detained the vessel. It arrived in Sarande port on Dec 13 where the cargo was discharged. On Dec 22 it berthed in Durres at the ex-shipyard port basin area where it will undergo repairs.
