Around 8:00 a.m., the Border Police (PAF) reported to the CROSS the presence of a migrant boat in the Aa Canal at Gravelines. The CROSS then requested that the 'Minck' and the security forces conduct a reconnaissance of the coastline and the area where the boat had run aground, to ensure that all the migrants had reached land. Around 12:20 a.m., the 'Minck' disembarked the five rescued migrants in Dunkirk, where they were taken into custody by land-based rescue services. In total, the CROSS deployed state resources in four operations involving boats attempting to cross from France to the UK. 18 migrants were rescued and taken into care by rescue teams. During the night of March 9, one more migrant boat was reported to the CROSS Gris-Nez in the Dunkirk area, which dispatched the 'Minck' to monitor it and provide assistance if needed. Around 4:00 a.m., the boat's engine failed. The 'Minck's crew, already in contact with the boat, rescued the 28 occupants.
