One injured in allision at Sæbø

The 'Kvernes', serving between Sæbø and Leknes, allided with the quay at Sæbø on the afternoon of Sep 22, 2025. The ship sailed straigth into the quay with a speed of about six knots. One crew member was injured. The ferry had to be taken out of service after the accident by the operator Fjord1. A replacement ferry was deployed on the afternoon of Sep 23. Ferry sidelined due to electricity trouble

The "Kvernes" had to be taken out of the Hundeidvika - Festøy service in the evening of Jan 22, 2016, due to engine trouble. The ferry returned on Jan 23 at 2.40 p.m. after the fault in the electrical system was found by an electrician.

Multiple assistance to blazing yacht

The "Kvernes" was among several vessels assisting a sailing yacht which was on fire in the Stor Fjord in the afternoonof Oct 12, 2015. The Skipper was saved and was taken care of by paramedics at Flisneset and transported to hospital. Around 3 p.m. the blazing yacht went down on a water depth around 130 to 140 meters. The fire department's boat "Parat III" and the well boat "Havørn" also assisted the boat which was hundred meters offFlisneset in Ålesund, providing some assistance to the fire department. Technical problem with bow door

On Apr 22, 2015, the "Kvernes" suffered technical problems, and cars had to back off the ferry at Festøy as the bow door did not open properly. The ferry had to turn at Festøy and the cars had to leave in reverse.Larger vehicles could not be carried aboard the ship.
