Tanker moored off Lome after pirate attack
The "Camden" was approached by seven armed pirates in a speed boat, and fired upon approximately 93 miles west of Bayelsa, Nigeria, in position 04.39.90 N, 004.01.00 E, on Dec 14, 2018, at 11.35 p.m. The alarm was sounded and all the crew mustered in the citadel. The six armed Nigerian Naval security guards returned the fire resulting in the pirates aborting the attack and moving away. The tanker sustained damage to a port hole and bullet marks on starboard bridge wing. It arrived at Lome anchorage on Jan 31, 2019, and dropped anchor in pos. 06° 3.92' N 001° 18.24' E.
