Man found dead in stateroom

A 27-year-old male passenger was found dead in a stateroom on board the 'Ovation of the Seas' while the ship was docked at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre. in Singapore on Jan 19, 2026, after completing a three-night voyage to Penang. At approximately 6:35 a.m., the Singapore Police Force received a call from the ship, alerting them to an unresponsive passenger aboard the vessel. Upon arrival, medical personnel on board confirmed the passenger’s death. The cruise line’s onboard medical team, along with authorities, rhad esponded quickly, but the passenger was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.The police did not suspect foul play, The investigations were continued in order to determine the cause of death, with reports suggesting that it may have been related to a health condition or a natural cause. The ship has since left the port enroute to Penang, where it arrived on Jan 20.

Medevac in Noumea

The 'Ovation of the Seas' requested the medevac of an Australian passenger on Jan 19, 2025, at around noon, who required urgent medical care. The teams of the New Caledonia Operational Surveillance and the CROSS NC responded to the ship, which was then anchored at Mystery Island, Vanuatu, 410 kilometers from Noumea. The CROSS NC held a medical conference with the crew and the Maritime Medical Consultation Centre (CCMM) in Toulouse, which confirmed the need to evacuate the passenger to a hospital within 24 hours. In conjunction with the SAMU of New Caledonia and the SNSM station in Noumea, it was decided that the ship, which was en route to Sydney, would make a detour via New Caledonia so that the passenger could be treated by the territory's medical facilities. After leaving its anchorage on the late afternoon, the vessel arrived in Noumea on Jan 20 at 5:30 a.m., where the passenger was picked up at sea by the launch 'Nautile' from the SNSM station. He was then taken care of by an ambulance at 6:20 a.m.

Medevac near Juneau

The US Coast Guard medevaced a passenger from the 'Ocvation of the Seas' at the entrance to Chatham Strait near Juneau, on Sep 13, 2022. Coast Guard watchstanders in Juneau received the initial request for the medevac from the ship at 2:18 p.m., stating the passenger was reportedly experiencing heart attack-like symptoms. An Air Station Sitka aircrew aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter arrived on scene at approximately 4 p.m., hoisted the 62-year-old man and a nurse and transported them to an awaiting Airlift Northwest aircrew in Sitka for further transport. On scene conditions at the time of the medevac included 10-mile visibility, winds at 18 miles per hour and 2-foot seas.

950 Indian crew members to be disembarked

Around 950 crew members stranded at different foreign destinations finally returned to India. In the morning of June 6, the 'Ovation of the Seas' reached Mumbai and anchored off the port.d a team of doctors have been sent aboard the ship to conduct Covid-19 tests. All Indian crew members have undergone testing and results were expected in two day. After all are tested negative for coronavirus, the ship will be berthed at the port and those on board will be disembarked. These seafarers are from different parts of the country, around 250 are from Goa while around 400 are from Mumbai. Buses have been arranged for the Goan crew members so that they can leave for Goa, while seafarers from Mumbai and others will go on their own. All the crew members were likely to test negative for COVID19 as all of them have been in quarantine since long. All passengers had disembarked by March end and since then only crew members were on board. The ship left from Manila few weeks ago and was disembarking international seafarers to their respective countries. Also the 'Anthem of the Sea' will arrive in the city on June 14.
