Offshore procession vessel broke lose from its mooring
On Dec 26, 2016, at 9.15 a.m. the "OSX 1" broke lose from her mooring in stormy winds in the Rosfjord and was about to drift towards oil rigs in Lyngdal. Both the ship and the platforms were moored in the bay. The ship still was kept by three of its four anchors, and the crew worked to get a new mooring. Several tugs were called to secure it. At 10.00 four tugs had reached the ship, and one more was expected at noon. The offshore processing vessel had drifted into the fjord but was at anchor at the bow. Two tugs held it against the wind. Coastguard, police, losholdermann, fire brigde and the Intermunicipal Committees for Acute Pollution (IUA) was briefed on the matter and were on site. At noon the ship was under control. The tugs "FFS Achilles", which was later replaced by the "BB Connector", and the "FFS Atlas" remained connected as the new mooring could only be established once the wind had subsided.
