Grounding in Punta Indio Canal
The "AP Sveti Vlaho" ran aground on Jan 2, 2019, in the Punta Indio Canal, Rio de La Plata, south of Montevideo, after having veered off the fairway due to a mechanical failure. The loaded ship was refloated on Jan 4 at 04.30 a.m. assisted by the two tugs "Emma B" and "Golondrina De Mar". The navigation channel was restored for all vessels, without restrictions. The ship moored at Recalada anchorage near the grounding site in pos. 35° 10.00' S 056° 33.33' W the same day. It was en route from San Lorenzo to Ravenna, loaded with 38.680 tons soybean meal, ETA Jan 22.
