Tanker broke lose from its moorings in Kamares
On Jan 26, 2026, at noon, the Port Authority of Sifnos was informed by the Master of the 'Apiliotis',which was moored in the port of Kamares, that due to adverse weather conditions, one of its port side stern moorings had broken. This resulted in the movement of the ship and the detachment of the starboard side mooring of the pier. The tanker safely proceeded to the port's anchorage, while the Sifnos Port Station prohibited its departure. After the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate by the supervising classification society, it was permitted to sail and berthed in Eleusis on Jan 28. At the same time, the ship-owning company was informed of the obligation to take measures to repair the damage to the port infrastructure.
