Ferry suffered capstan trouble
On Aug 13,2024, at midday the 'Antigone' failed to raise its port side anchor when it was going to executed its scheduled route from Piraeus to Souvala and Aegina, with 364 passengers on board. After unsuccessful attempts to raise the anchor,,a damage was found in the port side capstan. The vessel safely moored at its berth, where it disembarked the passengers along with their vehicles. They were forwarded to their destinations by the owner company. The Port Authority of Piraeus banned the ferry from sailing until completion of repairs and the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the monitoring classification society.
