Heavy lift carrier detained due to safety defiencies
The Coast Guard Salerno issued a detention order regarding the "Anne Sofie" which did not meet international standards for the safety of navigation and marine environment protection. Following a port state control, they issued a detention order due to deficiencies of the safety equipment on Feb 1, 2017. The annual testing of the emergency transmitter satellite station, the annual check of the lifeboat and the annual inspection of the life rafts was outstanding. The ship remained stuck in the port of Salerno pending the restoration of minimum standards in order to be re-authorized to navigate.
