Two injured in collision off Ostend
On March 26, 2017, at 4.35 a.m. the tanker "Galway Fisher" was in collision with the "Pilot 1" 18 kilometers off the coast of Ostend. The "Pilot 1" ran into the port side of the tanker which was dented and suffered damage to the railing too. Two people were slightly injured - the Dutch pilots had to be evacuated by helicopter. They were taken to hospital with back problems. Both ships suffered damage at the hull. The pilot boat returned to Ostend. The tanker, which had no cargo on board, was lying on the sandbank Westhinder.
