On tow after explosion, Canary Islands
In the morning Feb 5 fishing vessel Adventure reported explosion in engine room vessel was 53 nm S of Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, and asked for medical evacuation of chief engineer, who suffered severe burns. He was evacuated by helicopter and taken to hospital in Las Palmas. Salvage tug Miguel de Cervantes was dispatched to distressed Adventure, and took her on tow, ETA Las Palmas 1100 Feb 6. Towage was some 22 nm of Maspalomas, southern tip of Gran Canaria as of 0100 UTC Feb 06.
