Loch-Fyne

The 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Lochaline - Fishnish. suffered a technical issue in Lochaline, which required further investigation, on March 20. As a consequence, the scheduled sailings at 10:00 a.m. from Lochaline and at 10:25 a.m. from Fishnish were cancelled.After the issue was successfully resolved, the normal service could be resumed with the departure at 10:45 a.m. from Lochaline.

The 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Largs - Cumbrae, suffered a technical issue with the engine on Jan 28, 2026, which required further investigations. As a consequence, the service had to be suspended until further notice. The ferry was sidelined in Cumbrae for troubleshooting, but was able to return on the route after completion of repairs on the evening of the same day.

Due to the ongoing ramp issue with the 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Colintraive.Rhubodach, and the impact on turnaround times, amended timetables were being operated from Oct 16 until Oct 31. Monday - Saturday Departure Colintraive – 05:30, 06:30, 07:30, 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00 and 20:55. Departure Rhubodach – 05:40, 06:40, 07:40, 08:10, 08:40, 09:10, 09:40, 10:10, 10:40, 11:10, 12:10, 13:10, 14:10, 15:10, 16:10, 16:40, 17:10, 17:40, 18:10, 19:10, 20:10 and 21:00. Sunday Departure Colintraive – 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 19:00, 200:00 and 20:55. Departure Rhubodach – 08:40, 09:10, 09:40, 10:10, 10:40, 11:10, 12:10, 13:10, 14:10, 15:10, 16:10, 16:40, 17:10, 17:40, 18:10, 19:10, 20:10 and 21:00. The vessel was operating single ended. HGVs were accepted on a sailing-by-sailing basis and required to reverse onto the vessel. All passengers were requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to ther scheduled departure.

The 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Colintraive-Rhubodach, suffered a technical issue with the ramp on Oct 10. As a consequence, an amended timetable was operated until Oct 17. The vessel was departing from Colintraive at half past the hour and from Rhubodach at 20 to the hour. The first sailing of the day departed from Colintraive at 05:30 a.m. The final sailings of the day were operated as follows: Departure Colintraive – 8:30 p.m. and 8:55 p.m. Departure Rhubodach – 8:40 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Due to the ramp issue, the vessel was operating single ended. HGVs were accepted on a sailing-by-sailing basis and required to reverse onto the vessel.

The 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Colintraive-Rhubodach, suffereed a technical issue with the main engine that requiresd further investigations on the early morning of Oct 9, 2025. The service was timewise suspended, but could be resumed after the issue was fixed. Due to another technical issue the vessel’s ramp, the vessel had to operate single-ended on Oct 10. Larger commercial vehicles were unable to board the ferry.

On May 11 , the 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Tarbert-Portavadie, suffered a technical issue that required further investigations. As a consequence, the 5:30 p.m. departure from Portavadie had to be cancelled. The 6:00 p.m. sailing from Tarbert and the 6:30 p.m. sailing from Portavadie remained liable to delay or cancellation. After the issue was successfully resolved, the ship departed from Portavadie at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and from Tarbert at 7:00 p.m.

The 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Mallaig -Armadale, requires repairs prior to her return, During routine inspections, it has been discovered that sections of the exhaust system onboard the ship have to be attended. The ship berthed at the Dales Marine Systems in Greenock on April 7. Repair proposals and timeframes are currently being developed by a technical team of the operator CalMac in conjunction with external contractors. The ferry 'Loch Bhrusda' will remain on the route during this time. Due to the 'Loch Bhrusda' having a smaller capacity, some bookings may be affected. Port teams will be in contact with impacted customers.

On Feb 2, 2025, the 'Loch Fyne', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae Slip [Millport], suffered a technical issue that required further investigation. As a consequence, the service had to be suspended. The ship was again out of service due to a technical issue with the vessel’s forward main engine on the foremidday hours of Feb 6 and remained sidelined in Largs. After the crew completed final checks, the service was resumed with the 10:45 a.m. sailing departing Largs.
