Sailing delayed due to fouled propeller
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, got its aft propellor fouled on Feb 19, 2026. The issue required further investigation. As a consequence, the scheduled 05:45 p.m. sailing departing Oban was delayed, while the ship was waiting for diver attendance. After the divers successfully removed an obstruction from the propellor, the ferry started oading and departed as soon as possible.
Ferry suffered oil leak and issue with heating system
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a fuel oil leak on Nov 8. As a conseuqnece, the, departures from Craignure at 1:10 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. and from Oban at 3:50 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. had to be cancelled. After repairs have been carried out, the vessel resumed its service with the 7:50 p.m. sailing departing from Craignure after sea trials were successfully completed. In addition, the 'Loch Frisa' suffered an issue with the heating system on Nov 11. The operator CalMac was working to source replacement parts required to resolve the issue.
Clansman offers additional due to ongoing propulsion issue
Due to the ongoing technical issue with the propulsion system of the 'Loch Frisa', the following sailings on Nov 7 had to be cancelled: Departure Oban - 06:00 a.m., 08:50 a.m. Departure Craignure - 07:25 a.m., 10:15 a.m. The 'Clansman' operted additional sailings: Departure Oban - 08:00 a.m. (previously 07:25 a.m.) Departure Craignure - 09:15 a.m. (previously 08:35 a.m.) Until Dec 9, the 'Clansman' will provide additional sailings: Tuesday & Thursday Departure Oban β 4:30 p.m. Arrival Craignure β 5:20 p.m. Departure Craignure β 5:45 p.m. Arrival Oban β 6:35 p.m. Wednesday & Friday Departure Oban β 07:25 a.m. Arrival Craignure β 08:15 a.m. Departure Craignure β 08:35 a.m. Arrival Oban β 09:25 a.m.
Ferry suffered propulsion issues
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue with the propulsion system, which required investigations at the berth in Oban on Nov 5. A diver was called in for this purpose. As a conseuqence of the damage, the scheduled sailing had to be cancelled starting with the departure from Oban at 9:05 p.m. and from Craignure at 10:20 a.m. The ferry 'Clansman' was inserted and offered a few departure from Obanand Craignure in the afternoon. On Nov 6, the following sailings were cancelled: Departure Oban - 06:00 a.m.; Departure Craignure - 07:25 a.m.; Departure Oban - 08:50 a.m.; Departure Craignure - 10:30 a.m. A review was expected by 11:00 a.m. for the 12:00 p.m. departure from Oban.
Ferry delayed due to ramp issue
The ''Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue with the ramp on the afternoon of Sep 22. As a consequence, the scheduled 2:15 p.m. departure fromg Oban had to be delayed to 3:00 p.m.. This also had a knock on affect to the 3:40 p.m. sailing from Craignure. The ship finally left the port of Craignure at 4:27 p.m., 47 minutes behind schedule.
Sailings cancelled and delayed due to pump issue
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue with the fresh water pumps on Sep 8. As a consequence, the scheduled 10.00 a.m. departure from the port of Craignure had to be cancelled. The vessel was re-positioned to Oban to allow the issue to be investigated. The departure at 11:25 a.m. from Oban was liable to disruption or cancellation. The ferry finally departed at 11:47 a.m. with delay of 22 minutes to the scheduled departure. The ferry was expected to make up time throughout the day.
Technical issue with slicing door
On Aug 26, the operator CalMac of the ferry ''Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, reported a technical issue with the electric sliding door. As a consequence, the accessible toilet on the ferry out of order until further notice.
Technical issue with sewage plant
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban.Craignure, has suffered a technical issue with the sewage plant. Due to the requirement for regular uplift, the 07:10 a.m. sailing from Craignure from Monday to Fridays will now depart at 06:45 a.m. The technical issue was resolved on Aug 20, and the 06:45 a.m. sailing departing Craignure Monday to Fridays was reverted back to 07:10 a.m. On Aug 25, however, due to an operational issue with the ferry, the scheduled 07:10 a.m. sailing from Craignure had to be cancelled. An update was to be provided soon for the remainder of the day.

On 21 May 21 , the 'Loch Frisa', operating on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue with the engine,As a consequence, the 8:00 p.m. service departing Oban was delayed. After the issue with the vesselβs engine has been resolved, the 'Loch Frisa' departed Oban approximately 10 minutes late.
Ferry suffered issue with drencher system
The 'Loch Frisa', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered an issue with the drencher system. As a consequence, the vessel is currently unable to carry any dangerous goods until May 31. CalMac personnel was waiting on the delivery of the required parts for repairs, and a further update was to be provided when they have arrived. Affected bookings were to be contacted directly by the ports.
