Tanker repelled pirate attack
The "River Niger" was attacked by pirates in Nigerian waters in the morning of Nov 6, 2018, in position 03 55N 006 56E, about 30 miles south of Bonne in the Bight of Bonny. The tanker was fired upon, but managed to escape by increasing speed and maneuvering. The crew was safe. The LNG tanker reached its port of destination Bonny, and sailed again on Nov 7, bound for China.
