Medevac off La Rochelle
In the early evening of Mar 10, a Dauphin helicopter fleet medevaced a crew member of the "LNG Aqwas Ibom" which was enroute from Saint-Nazaire to Bonny. At 7.30 p.m. the MRCC Etel was alerted after a sailor of 49 years had fallen ill. After a conference with the center of maritime medical consultation (MMCC) in Toulouse and the SAMU 17, the evacuation of the person was medically recommended. The MRCC Etel requested the Navy helicopter, the Navy, based in La Rochelle, to join the LNG tanker which was 110 nautical miles west of La Rochelle.
