Chemicals spilled on the "Maersk Sofia" in the Port of Los Angeles, causing a clean-up operation in the morning of Nov 8. The vessel reported the spill as it was inbound to berth 400, . Three cargo containers had leaked below deck, possibly contaminating the air. The chemicals were hydrogen and cyanamid, a weak soluble acid used as a fertilizer. Maersk officials have a plan to remove the containers without causing a public health risk.
