The Philippine flagged cargo m/v “Medbay”, 9981 gt (IMO 9347786), collided with the “Sun Glory” at the wharf portion of Pier 5 along the South Harbor in the port of Manila. The “Medbay”, which is owned by the Aboitiz Transport System (ATS), had already docked and secured along Berth 1 of Pier 5 for the discharge of cargo when it was ordered move to another berth upon receiving orders from officials of the ATS. After the vessel started moving two knots, the ship captain had to order an emergency stop after he realized his ship might run into the “Sun Glory”. But he could not avoid that the bow of the "Medbay" struck the “Sun Glory”.
