Collision on Houston Ship Channel
The "Monte Alegre", coming from Altamira, and the product tanker "Chembulk Houston" collided on Mar 5, 2015, at 1.55 p.m. south of Eagle Point near San Leon in Houston. The Houston Ship Channel was closed between buoys 26 and 42 until 3 p.m. Both vessels suffered slight damages. They were proceeding to port at the time of collision and docked in port afterwards. The "Monte Alegre" berthed at the Barbours Cut Terminal at 11.40 p.m., the "Chembulk Houston", which had just arrived from the Ilha da Conceicao in Rio de Janeiro, at the Morgans Point Pier at 11.45 p.m.
