Truck damaged cement carrier
During loading operation, a heavy trailer-type truck lost its control at the pier and allided with the starboard side of the 'Angelos K' at Mersin on Aug 27, 2023. The vessel suffered a slight bent and indent above the water line of the hull plating and pertinent connections. An initial inspection was conducted by the crew. Subsequently, a detailed damage survey was carried out together with the port authority. As a result of further inspections, the vessel was found free of serious damage, and the departure permission was granted by the port authority. Upon completion of the cargo operations, the vessel sailed from Mersin in the evening of Aug 28, headed to Ashdod with an ETA as of Aug 30.
