Container ship breached in Bremerhaven
In the morning of Oct 29, 2015, the "Maersk Leon", whilst coming from Tilbury, allided with the Columbus Quay in Bremerhaven in spite of tug assistance. The mooring manoever was hampered by dense fog with visibility around 50 meters. The hull of the ship was breached on a length of two meters by a steel ladder fixed to the quay and dented above the water line, also frames suffered damage as well as the quay. The ship was repaired on site before leaving port again on Nov 2 around 11 p.m. bound for Antwepr, ETA Nov 4, 2 p.m. German report with photo: http://www.presseportal.de/blaulicht/pm/35235/3160574
