Fully cellular containership Linda (9131 gt, built 2007), en route from Tees to Rotterdam with 11 people on board, reported as not under command due to water leakage to main engine, at 1415 hrs, on July 10. No pollution has been reported. The vessel resolved issues by 1512, UTC.

After consultations with experts Sweden emergency response services decided to leave chemicals laden containers dropped into the Baltic Sea from the “Linda”, which is servicing the Rotterdam-St. Petersburg line, on Feb 6 between Oland and Gotland. If the containers are found, they will not be removed from the bottom. The boxes contain toxic substances, but they are at a depth of 70-110 meters where their hazardous impact on the environment is estimated to be just local. At least one or three chemicals laden
