Deadly work accident
A fisherman has died in work accident on the 'Hovden Viking' outside Senja in the morning of March 2, 2021. The ship was fishing out of Husøy and was off Grimsbakken, 18 nautical miles from Senja, when the accident occurred. A rescue helicopter with a doctor went out to the ship after the accident, and found that the man was dead. The ship headed to Senjahopen after the accident, and the police went on board and was investigating the accident. The relatives have been notified. The crisis team in Senja municipality was in Senjahopen and assisted. The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority and the Norwegian Maritime Directorate have been notified of the incident.
