Engine failure off Sarayburnu
On May 23, 2025, the 'Lila Canada,' en route from Piraeus to Sulina, suffered an engine failure off Sarayburnu. The ship got assistance by the tugs 'Kurtarma 11' (IMO: 9854399) and 'Mehmetçik' (IMO: 9816268), which were deployed from Istanbul, and was taken in tow to Ahırkapı under the coordination of the IGTHM and accompanied by a pilot.
