Pirates took two crew members hostage
The 'Rio Mitong' was attacked by pirates on May 9, 2020, at 2 a.m. at Malabo Anchorage near Bioko Island in the Gulf of Guinea. Two crew members, believed to be of Russian and Ukrainian nationalities, were kidnapped. the rest of crew was said to be safe. The ship moved to Malabo Port and was berthed at 8 a.m.
