Cargo ship and crew stranded off Pozallo
The "Oruc Reis" was being stranded on Pozallo anchorage, Sicily, since July 21, 2016, with several months wages delay, the supplies running short, and a bunch of other problems, including tension and even fights among the remaining crew. Some of the crew fled the vessel aboard the starboard rescue boat. The vessel was loaded with 31291 tons of scrap metal. The owner of the vessel did not respond to the master’s calls. The vessel was not covered by an ITF agreement.
