Lifjord sidelined again
The ferry service Lavik-Oppedal was severely hampered on Mar 31 as the "Lifjord" was again sidelined at the wharf in Lavik with a technical problem. The Ferry compnay was working hard to get the ferry back on track, Færøyvik at 6.30 p.m. stated that a part had to be replaced and it remained unclear when the "Lifjord" would resume its service, leaving the Lavik-Oppedal route with two ferries until further notice.
Replacement ferry kept in reserve at Easter in spite of repair
The "Lifjord" which had suffered technical problems in the morning of Mar 21 was back about 11 a.m. Unfortunately, the fault was again found in the injector of the engine which had already caused trouble before. As a consequence, Fjord1 remain prepared if similar problems occur at Easter and keep ready the "Gulen" as a reserve ferry which skipped a scheduled shipyard overhaul.
More technical troubles
The "Lifjord" suffered problems again in the morning of Mar 21. The ferry company Fjord1 announced the trouble around 9 a.m. The ship had been out of service already from Mar 16-Mar 18 due to technical problem and temporarily blocked thequay at Lavik. Meanwhile the ship is sailing again.
