Crew managed to tackle perpetrators
The 'Horizon Maru' was boarded by two armed perpetrators with sharp weapons on Jan 21, 2020, at 4.45 a.m. in Kabil waters in the Riau Strait off Eastern Batam. The ship had been approached by a boat with four people on board. The crew managed to fight the robbers and captured one of them. One crew member suffered face injuries. The captured robber was handed over to the police. The tanker alerted ships in the vicinity and police via VHF Ch.16. The patrol boat 8002 came to assist.
