Horizon-9

The 'Horizon 9', with 165 passengers and seven crew members on board, en route from Batam to the HarbourFront Centre in Singapore, was in collision with the product tanker 'La Digue' (IMO: 9448724) off the Southern Islands on Nov 10, 2025. The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. The ferry had departed Batam’s Harbour Bay Terminal at 4:30 p.m. A patrol craft was deployed to escort and guide the ferry to the the Regional Ferry Terminal of the HarbourFront Centre, where all 172 people on board safely disembarked. The ferry had sustained some damage to its bow above the waterline, but remained fully operational. The tanker did not report any damage. There was also no impact to navigational traffic or port operations. Singapore’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) was investigating the incident. On Oct 3, 2024, the 'Horizon 9' assisted the crew of a fishing boat which had sunk near the Batu Berhenti waters a in pos. 01°11.687 N 103°53.191E at 3:50 p.m. LT. Initial information regarding the incident was provided by the 'Sindo 10'. The 'Horizon 9'Ä, which was in the vicinity, promptly provided assistance and successfully rescued the three fishermen at 3.56 p.m. They were picked up by the patrol ship KN 'Tanjung Datu' at 4:37 p.m., receiving further medical care. After the rescue operation was concluded, the ferry continued its voyage to Singapore at 4.39 p.m. The authorities were investigating the cause of the boat's sinking.
