Greenpeace forced tanker with Russian oil to turn around
Greenpeace activists stopped the 'Andromeda', loaded with 33,000 tonnes of Russian diesel, loaded in Primorsk, from entering Thamesport in the night of May 15, 2022. "If the British government will not say no to funding Putin's war against Ukraine, then we will do it for them," activists said. 12 Greenpeace activists managed to climb through security barriers and climb onto the quay where the tanker was supposed to have docked. It forced the tanker to turn around. Several activists were subsequently arrested by police, while others remained in place at the jetty, preventing the ship from docking. Greenpeace calls on the British government to stop funding Putin and Russia's war on Ukraine and dependence on fossil fuels. The 'Andromeda' dropped anchor in pos. 51° 31.55' N 001° 31.24' E.
