Bulk carrier assisted distressed migrants
On Jan 14, 2023, the 'Honey Badger', en route from Carteya Guadarranque to Algeciras, located a distressd boat 35 nautical miles southwest of Cabo Sacratif. The crew nitified the rescue service in Andalucia, and the MRCC of Salvamento Marítimo in Almería mobilized the 'Salvamar Gienah' to the scene. The bulk carrier escorted the boat until its arrival, and the SAR vessel rescued the nine people on board and transferred them to Motril.
