The Irish cutter 'Aztec-S12', 23.95 gt (CS: EU2534), from Skibbereen in West Cork, which had sunk on Jan 11, 2021, off Duncannon in the Waterford Estuary in Wexford County, has been raised by the 'Lara 1' on Jan 30, assisted by the Irish tug 'Ocean Supporter' (MMSI: 250005038). The wreck was transported to the New Ross Shipyard in Waterford for repairs. Before that, it had to be decontaminated. Two tons of diesel and 15 tons of rotten fish had to be disposed of. Because of the spring tides and poor visibility, which hampered the divers' work, the recovery had been a tedious job. The uplift began after the preparations on Jan 30t at 8:30 a.m. and were completed at 8:30 p.m. Five divers, the Coast Guard, naval officers and the 15 crew members of the floating crane as well as the tug crew were involved.
