The "Jin Yue" on Nov 24, 2010, was severely damage when it allided with a berth in Paradip port. but its 24 Chinese crew members were safe. The ship, after unloading rock phosphate at Paradip port, was to load 52.000 mt of iron ore fines bound for China. During berthing, the ship struck the berth in spite of tug assistance, and was damaged in the lower areas. PPT authority sent a surveyor to ascertain the cause of damage and to see the condition of the ship after which cargo operations were to continue.
