Damaged seal under repair in Leer
The Langeoog III' was docked at the Diedrich Shiyard in Leer on March 19, 2026, after an object had penetrated the shaft seal of the bow thruster, causing a leak. The seal needed to be replaced, but this could only be done when the ship was on a slipway. Since the slipway at the regular Diedrich shipyard in Oldersum is currently occupied, the ship was moved to Leer. However, the repair work was being carried out by Oldersum employees who are very familiar with the ship. The ship was scheduled to resume its regular service between Bensersiel and Langeoog on March 22. Defective shaft seal repaired in Oldersum
The 'Langeoog III' suffered a defective shaft seal at the bow thruster and immediately entered the shipyard Diedrich in Oldersum/Moormerland for repairs on Feb 18, 2020, at 11.50 a.m. This delayed the annual maintenance of the 'Langeoog IV' scheduled for this time.
