Engine failure in Kiel Canal
Enroute Colon-Ronnskar the "BBC Bunde" suffered an engine failure after having entered the Kiel Canal eastbound on Dec 16, 2012, around 2.30 a.m. The disabled vessel was taken in tow by the two tugs "Bugsier 11" and "Bugsier 15" at Kudensee and pulled back to Brunsbüttel at 3 a.m. At 8 a.m. it was moored in Ostermoor and could resume its voyage after repairs were carried out aroudn 6 p.m. The ship reached the Kiel-Holtenau locks without further incidents on Dec 17 at 3 a.m. and entered the Baltic Sea with an ETA at Ronnskar on Dec 19 at 10 a.m.
