Collision off Marbari Anchorage
The 'Densa Panther' was in collisin with the bulk carrier 'Archagelos Gabriel' at the Marbari Anchorage off Kutubdia island, south of Chittagong, on Aug 23, 2020, at 8 a.m. Both ships were moored, but the anchor of the 'Archagelos Gabriel' started dragging at 4.30 a.m. After both anchors broke, she hit the 'Densa Panther'. The ships suffered significant damage. The 'Densa Panther' encountered a hull breach at port side and remained at anchor near the collision site. The Bangla Desh Coast Guard deployed a patrol boat, and the submarine 'Shyamal Bangla' collected information about the situation on site. The 'Archadelos Gabriel' heaved anchor and was underway southwest of Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, as of Aug 24.
