Belships Buys Supramax Bulk Carrier
Nowegean bulk ship operator Belships has agreed to acquire the 55,866 dwt bulk carrier M/V SEPHORA from Prospero Marine Ltd, a company controlled by Greek shipowner Elias Kulukundis.The vessel was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Japan in 2007.
Bulkcarrier adrift in Black Sea suspected for illegal Crimea traffic
On July 29, 2015, the "Sephora" was reported disabled and adrift in the Black Sea about 50 miles southeast of Yalta. The bulkcarrier was enroute from Damietta to Odessa, but the current position was quite away from the regular routes, which was strange for the local border guard and they requested an inspection and investigation of possible illegal traffic. The bulk carrier and the crew have been detained on the current position until further investigation. The authorities and ship operator refused to comment the accident.
