Decommissioned ferry put up for auction
The 'Jimaan', docked at Sarnia Harbour, has been put up for auction by the Mhe Ministry of Transportation (MTO) . The ferry was recently listed for sale by the Province of Ontario and bidding ends on June 17, 2026. It was primarily used for the Pelee Island ferry service from 1992 until 2019 and laid up in Sarnia when the 'Pelee Islander II' came into service. The MTO did not state if the Jiimaan needs repairs or refurbishments. The vessel is being sold as-is and was "not represented as being in a sea-worthy condition."
