Medevac in rough seas off Penamrc'h
More than 220 nautical miles off the tip of Penmarc'h the "Royal Innovation" requested a medevac on Nov 24, 2012, at 5 p.m. The CROSS Gris Nez was alerted after a crewman suffered from fever and abdominal pain. The ship was approaching the French coast to allow an immediate evacuation. On Nov 25 around 5:30 a.m., the CROSS Etel sent an EC 225 helicopter from the Navy Base in Lanvéoc with a team of the health department of the army on board. The patient was airlifted and transported to the hospital Cavale Blanche Brest where he arrived around 7:30 a.m. Wind on scene was 40 knots.
