On 01-FEB-2011 at 11:57 UTC, the JIA NING SHAN was attacked while underway in position 06 44' 0"N, 069 24' 0"E, 201nm SW of Thuraakunu Island, Maldives on bearing 83.7. One mothership and Two Skiffs with 5 pirates on board each firing automatic weapons at the Vessel were used. The vessel increased speed and used evasive maneuvers to escape the attack.
